Rates can be charged by the document, the hour, or by "Package".

Packages are shown below and include "Leaves, Twigs, Branches or the entire Tree". When selecting a package you can start small, then progress over time.

Documents: $19.00 - $50.00 depending on the size of the document.

Hourly rates: $35.00 an hour for;

• Writing and editing family histories,
• Information searches at county courthouses, libraries, cemeteries or online,
• Scanning family photos and documents then converting those documents to a digitized format.

 Additional expenses may apply. Those are typically;

• Travel in Texas (45 cents per mile from Austin, TX to the location of records repositories),
• Mailing fees (for documents, DVDs, photocopies),
• Photocopying fees charged by County Clerks and Librarians.

 Packages:

A "Leaf of your tree" package - ($100.00 - $300.00)

For the Genealogist to conduct an initial search (online or at a courthouse/library) to determine whether information exists on your family. A short report will be provided to you so that you can decide if you want to proceed with more in-depth research.

A "Twig of your tree" package - ($100.00 - $500.00)

For the Genealogist to construct your family tree going back 2 generations (to your grandparents) and write a short report on your lineage.

A "Branch of your tree" package - ($100.00 - $900.00)

For the Genalogist to research a family lineage, construct a family tree going back 3-4 generations and write a story on your family history. This report includes only your direct ancestors (meaning, siblings, cousins, etc. are not included) and includes only the most basic of vital records (census, birth records, death certificates, places of burial).

The "Entire Tree" package - ($100.00 - $1100.00 or until you say stop.)

For the Genealogist to construct a family tree that includes all family members, all available supporting documentation, and write a full report which includes reference material. The Genealogist will keep you informed of cumulative costs and at any point you can say "Stop here, I'm happy with what has been located."

The above estimates are by no means an all-inclusive list, but meant to give you an idea of the time involved to conduct research, abstract information, document sources, and write reports.
